We are pleased to announce that both phases of some major renovation works for Rookeries Carlton Junior and Infants school in Pontefract have been accomplished.
The works to develop Rookeries school were undertaken in two phases over two school holidays, accommodating for the needs of the children and the staff. The first phase was successfully completed over the mid-term break in February, and the final phase was completed over the Easter break, which finished with the full re-decoration of the school and the installation of 8 new fire doors.
The contract mainly involved the management of our specialist sub-contractors as well as our own direct labour; all were to carry out works in harmony with a heating upgrade that was in progress at the same time.
Due to these works being undertaken in unison with the heating engineers, Sayes & Co, management and co-ordination was key to this contract. Despite the different trades working in the same area, both contractors co-ordinated effectively, enabling the first phase to be completed on time, and to a high standard.
We know that the staff and children at Rookeries school have looked forward to a new, fresh, and warm environment, which is now perfect for learning.
